Church insurance built around ministry—not a one-size-fits-all policy.broker@1225unified.com

The 1225 Unified process

A clearer path from church information to informed protection.

Good coverage begins with a complete picture of the ministry. Our process helps church leaders prepare, respond, compare, and make decisions with greater confidence.

Our guiding principle

Complete information creates a stronger starting point.

Underwriters cannot evaluate what they cannot see—and church leaders cannot compare what has not been clearly explained.

Our role is to reduce preventable gaps between the church, the submission, the insurance market, and the final coverage decision. That means asking detailed questions early, organizing information carefully, and maintaining clear communication throughout the process.

Eight connected stages

From first conversation to continuing service.

01
Start

Tell us about your ministry

Begin with a proposal request, policy review, renewal concern, or conversation about a new ministry exposure.

Initial needs identified
02
Prepare

Complete the Request for Proposal

Every church completes the 1225 Unified Request for Proposal so we can understand the ministry, operations, property, people, and current insurance.

Ministry profile established
03
Document

Gather supporting information

Declarations, five-year loss runs, building photographs, COPE details, financial and attendance information, and other relevant documents are organized for review.

Submission file assembled
04
Review

Strengthen the submission

J W Odom & Associates reviews the materials, identifies missing information, evaluates major coverage concerns, and prepares follow-up requests before marketing.

Risk prepared for market
05
Market

Coordinate underwriting

The submission is presented to appropriate available markets. We manage underwriter questions, supplemental requests, inspections, valuations, and clarifications.

Available terms developed
06
Compare

Present the proposal

Church leadership receives a clear presentation of available coverage, limits, deductibles, exclusions, conditions, premiums, and material differences.

Informed decision supported
07
Bind

Confirm coverage and payment

After the church selects an option, all signatures, down payments, binding requirements, and financing documents are completed before coverage is confirmed.

Coverage placed
08
Serve

Issue, service, and prepare for renewal

We follow through on policy delivery, outstanding requirements, service needs, claims reporting guidance, coverage changes, and the next renewal review.

Ongoing relationship begins

Preparing the submission

What your church should be ready to provide.

Requirements vary by risk and carrier, but these items form the foundation of most church insurance submissions. Additional information may be requested after review or by an underwriter.

Premium Financing PartnerIPFSImperial PFS

Payment flexibility when available

Premium financing through Imperial PFS (IPFS).

When an eligible insurance program requires a significant down payment or full annual premium, premium financing may provide another way to manage cash flow.

Through our relationship with Imperial PFS (IPFS), eligible churches may be offered a separate premium finance agreement that divides the financed portion of the insurance premium into scheduled payments. The finance agreement is separate from the insurance policy and may include a down payment, finance charges, fees, payment requirements, and cancellation rights if payments are not made as agreed.

Before coverage begins

A proposal is not a binder.

1Coverage selection confirmed
2Applications and signatures complete
3Payment or financing requirements satisfied
4Authorized binding confirmation received

No insurance coverage is created by a website submission, quotation, proposal, financing application, or payment alone. Coverage becomes effective only when binding has been confirmed by an authorized party in accordance with carrier requirements.

After the policy is issued

The process does not end at binding.

Policy delivery begins the next stage of stewardship. Outstanding requirements must be satisfied, changes must be reported, audits may require attention, and coverage should be reviewed as ministry operations evolve.
